Android and symbian are top OS’s for PDA’s , Cellphones and other palm devices , android is new , modern and latest while symbian is still the most popular and widely used Mobile OS . are you thinking to switch to android from symbian or you want to switch to symbian from android ? lets have a brief comparison between two .

Considering UI ( user Interface)
Google Android is developed considering touch input methodology in mind while symbian was developed earlier to support nokia handsets with touch pads .almost 60% of new cellphone models are using touch pad . i have used nokia’s e51 with symbian and HTC magic ( 2nd model to use android as OS) if i compare both i personally found Google Android much user friendly / light and with easy navigation / browsing . tough there are some classic mobile releases like Samsung i8910 HD which is using Symbian OS and it easily beats the HTC magic with HD 720p video recording and playback .
Nokia recently launched N8 its only cell phone with symbian 3 OS , comparing google android and symbian 3 would be a perfect competitive match , i am getting N8 soon would compare both soon , as far my personal suggestion , idea is concerned Google’s Android is much better than Symbian OS.

Being a freelancer its essential to know which site is best in terms of more work , better project management , secured / assured payouts etc ..as i have good service provider profile on both odesk and freelancer lets compare freelancer.com (earlier known as getafreelancer.com) and odesk.com , its my personal comparison .
Freelancer is simple straight forward outsourcing website navigation is easy but i think for startup companies and freelancers its a nightmare “no limit” term on bidding and forced prominence to premium members makes freelancer a difficult challenge for newbies , its good pond for some old users like “pinky on freelancer” , with more than 1400 reviews its impossible for a new members to compete him/her on any logo/banner design job posting . freelancer have new features like its offering marketplace i dont think combining outsourcing with digital shop is a good idea as it will decrease the tasks for designers and coders .

Odesk on the other hand dont have anything like free or paid members , membership is 100% free there , and all members are represented equally , all members have proper bid posting quota so its impossible to spam the job postings with offers like ” plz check pm ” ” plz check pm” etc etc , i know many newbies on odesk who started within month and now have a solid professional profiles there , another great advantage of odesk is that it pioneer in introducing hourly job system to outsourcing market with solid tools like team viewer , task screen capturer etc odesk is the most secured outsourcing platform for buyers , contractors or service seekers .

at last lets compare alexa stats , best outsourcing site is one with highest numbers of users (buyers)

which site is good for you to find work or find a provider ? odesk or elance , lets  review both sites below and compare the features , i am freelancing for almost 6-7 years  , there are few renowned websites known for outsourcing like Odesk , getacoder , getafreelancer ( now freelancer ) and Elance  there are some other too like scriptlance , rent a coder , ilance etc etc but if you compare traffic stats you will definately dropdown to these two   , so which one is better ?

Free

i regularly use both odesk and elance to find projects , Elance isnt completely free for providers which isnt  catchy  for any new provider to signup at all ,while Odesk is 100% free for providers but theres limited quota of 20 Bids per week for average provider there which i think is good idea to keep odesk spam free  ,  there are always fresh job postings on both sites but through buyer’s perspective if he/she will post a job on odesk candidate list will be around 10-30 same posting on elance will only render 5-10 applicants so it will give buyer less choices and talents to select best provider .

Profile Pages

now lets checkout provider profile pages , Odesk profile pages are much smoother , through the point and clean while elance prodile pages look bit boaring . if you dont have  attractive feedback there chances are low you can get job there when your competitor have high feedback , in this context on odesk if you have good portfolio and less or no feedbacks you can still prove your presence to buyers there .

General popularity

Popularity wise i think both websites are at same stage , both websites are featured in  media many times .

seo wise Elance got edge , elance is ahead of odesk for popular searched keyowrds like “ find web developer” ,  ”find a freelancer”  .

Payment and Withdraws

Payment wise odesk is superb elance doesnt support withdraws via moneybookers , which is very depressing as many Asian countries which are marked as top outsourcing destinations like Pakistan , Philippines etc dont have paypal and service providers of these countries vastly use Moneybookers .
